Understanding how brands find success on Tumblr
Tumblr is one of our favorite social platforms. It’s one of the web’s most creative communities, and in the past few years, has developed into a robust platform for brands and fans alike to share amazing content. We’ve been working with Tumblr data for years at Union Metrics, and recently got a chance to dig a little deeper into how brands are using the platform.
We analyzed 73 brand blogs over the course of a month. Over that month, the brands posted 3,596 times, generating 2.1 million total notes from 1.7 million people. From this dataset, we were able to learn a great deal about Tumblr and what it means to be successful there. How does brand content perform on Tumblr? How often and when should brands post? What content performs the best on Tumblr?
