Influencer marketing- especially Instagram influencer marketing- is all the rage at the moment, and some campaigns choose more wisely in their influencer partnership than others.
One pitch-perfect pair is Link AKC and popular Instagram dog duo (now a dog quartet) Harlow and Sage. The latter star in a one-minute long “Howloween” video showing how Link AKC smart collars keep your pups safe even during the spookiest of times.
Brand and influencer partnerships should always seem this natural. The video ad they put together is also hilarious, seasonal, and shows off the product perfectly.
Link AKC will get more out of this campaign, however, by cross-posting the Instagram video to at least their own Instagram account, if not also sharing it on Facebook and Twitter. While Harlow and Sage might not be particularly well known outside of Instagram, the video is cute enough as a standalone story to work even if you’re not familiar with its stars.
The hashtag #DogSpeak is unique to the brand, but not particularly branded or popular. Something like #LinkHowloween might have worked better for this specific campaign; #Howloween alone is too popular and has been used by a number of other dog-related brands over the years.
