What you need to know about Vine’s change to Vine Camera

Vine is finally making the transition to Vine Camera since they announced a shutdown in October. What does that mean? We’ll let the team behind Vine explain:

“Here’s what’s coming: in January, we’re transitioning the Vine app to a pared-down Vine Camera. With this camera app you’ll still be able to make six-second looping videos, and either post them directly to Twitter or save them to your phone.”

So instead of a complete shutdown, Vine is changing into a camera app that’s a simpler version of its former self. The archives are staying up, too.

We’ll take this opportunity to celebrate everything we’ve loved about Vine’s creative community by sharing some of our favorites from over the years.

Beware of signs when doing gymnastics in the mall.

We also recommend viewing our other favorites, like this sassy owl, Mario following his dreams, an auctioneer breaking it down, an expression of teen identities, this expression of feeling in sports, this dance party and this other, even better dance party.

Thanks for everything, Vine creators! We’re excited to see what work many of you do next.
